Tuesday: practice moves from 5 to 6. Thursday: it moves to the other field. By Thursday night, half the parents saw both messages, a few saw one, and one family drove to the wrong field in the rain.
You didn't do anything wrong. You posted in the team app. The problem is who reads it.
Why team apps fail
Every season brings new parents, new phones, and new refusals. One parent has the app but turned off notifications. One uses a work phone. One grandparent does pickup on Wednesdays and will never install anything. The app is only as good as the last parent who signed into it.
One group per team, one link at registration

Create a group for each team.
"U10 Blue", "U12 Red". Each gets its own subscribe link and QR code.

Share the link at registration.
Parents pick text, WhatsApp or email in about 30 seconds. Grandparents and carpool drivers can join too.

Send changes once.
Type it in HeyAll, or email the team’s HeyAll address from the sideline. Every parent gets it the way they’ll actually see it.
Rain-outs and last-minute changes
This is where it matters most. When the field closes an hour before practice, you need every family to know now — not whenever they next open an app.
- Parents who picked text get a text.
- Parents who picked email or WhatsApp get it there.
And because each parent gets their own copy, there’s no reply-all thread of "which field?" under it.
For leagues: every team, one dashboard
Running a whole league? Larger plans hold several groups — one per team — under one account, so the league office can send to any team from one place.
A typical team is about 30 parents and guardians. On Starter ($19/month), a 30-person group fits with room to spare — the plan covers up to 250 members. If everyone chose text, one reminder uses 30 credits, so the 250 included credits cover about 8 text reminders a month. Members on email don't use credits at all.
