Finally: a group text with no reply-all
You sent one line: "Practice moved to 6pm Thursday." Then came 60 replies. "Ok!" "Thanks!" "Which field?" "Thanks!" "Is this Thursday or next Thursday?" "👍" By the end, nobody could find the original message — including the person asking which field.
Sixty replies. Zero new information.
Why reply-all happens — and who it hurts most
Group threads invite replies. Everyone wants to acknowledge the message, and the easiest way is to reply to the thread. Each reply notifies everyone, which invites more replies.
People fix this by muting the thread. That works — until the next real announcement. The organizer is the one who pays: the people you most need to reach are the ones who muted you.
The fix: every person gets their own copy
With HeyAll there is no shared thread. Your message goes out to each person individually, through the channel they picked — text, WhatsApp or email. Nobody sees anyone else, so nobody can reply-all. The message arrives on its own, where people will actually read it.
It also fixes the mixed-phone problem
The real reason big group texts die is mixed phones. When iPhones and Androids share a thread, it falls back to basic group MMS — split conversations, missing messages, blurry photos. Individual messages avoid all of that. Each person gets a normal text (or WhatsApp, or email) like any other.

- The volunteer lead: "Two spots open at Saturday’s 10am shift." It reaches the whole roster in one send — no thread for "can’t make it, sorry!" replies to pile into.
